Five Wedding Venue Rental Red Flags that couples should consider before they sign the contract with a venue.
Has the venue or private estate that you are considering ever been used for a wedding? Most weddings have different requirements than a charity or cocktail reception, since there might be a flip involved from ceremony to dinner.
Do they have negative on-line reviews? Definitely use caution before renting any properties or venues with bad reviews. Consider this rule for any event professionals that you are thinking about hiring.
Check with your event planner and/or event professionals about the venue or estate before you sign the agreement. Your event planner or event professionals might know something about the venue that you have not considered, which later that can be costly.
How does the venue and/or their staff respond to you? Are they professional? Are they difficult to reach? Do they take along time to give you information and/or send you a contract? If you answer yes to any of these questions, we recommend that you think twice before planning your event with them.
Are they upfront with their costs? Are they charging you for every little line item? We make sure that we review all of our venue agreements with our clients to ensure that there are no surprises after the contract has been signed.
